According to resources, DAV Jawahar Vidya Mandir was his school, where he became an expert in badminton and football. Later he was selected to play for different clubs. He used to be the goalkeeper for his football team. After seeing his attraction towards the cricket, his coach decided to send him to different cricket clubs. During the tournament, Dhoni was offered to play top of the order for CCL. Playing on the top order, he performed very well and availing the opportunity; he scored the first century of his career. After the efforts of Devel Sahay, MS Dhoni was selected to play for the junior as well as for the senior Bihar Ranji team for the season 1999-2000. Dhoni moved to Bihar Ranji team in one year. He was also selected to play as under 19 for Bihar team. Later on, while playing for Bihar team, he scored 176 runs for five matches. Eventually, the team couldn’t manage to qualify for the quarter-finals and secured 6th position in the group table.

Professional Career

After playing for many tournaments and consecutive hard work, MS Dhoni has selected for India A team in 2003 where he was chosen to play against Zimbabwe and Kenya. Where he managed to catch seven times and succeeded in 4 of stumping.

During the tri-series between India A, Pakistan A, and Kenya, Dhoni managed to define his skills perfectly, and due to his half-century, India managed to chase the target of 223 against Pakistan A. During the tournament he made consecutive centuries and scored 362 run in 6 innings. His average during the match was 72.40. After performing in the tournament, Sourav Ganguly selected him for the Indian Cricket Team.
